We are delighted with our plans, which are coming together, for our Forest Schools project. This has been our priority this year as a result of so many requests for outdoor learning from our community. In this respect we have:
- obtained consent for the planting of trees from the local family who gifted the land to the school for forest school use.
- received a generous donation of trees from Mr Taylor, which have been kindly planted by Mr McCready.
- invested over £1000 to send two members of staff (Mrs Davidson and Mrs Stewart) on Forest School training. Mrs Davidson is now working tirelessly (in addition to all her other duties) to complete the essays and follow up course work required for her to deliver sessions to the children and gain the Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification. Mrs Stewart is also working hard in her own time to complete the extensive coursework required for the Level 2 Forest School Assistant qualification.
- obtained a variety of equipment for delivering forest school sessions with grateful thanks to Mr Hartley. These items mean we have a good starter set of tools and equipment to enable a range of Forest School activities. Aren’t we lucky to have such supportive and proactive governors!
