GB Paralympic Footballer Jack Rutter

We were very excited to welcome GB Paralympic Footballer Jack Rutter to the school on Tuesday, 13 June. Jack was a premier league footballer when an incident left him with brain damage that severely affected his balance and hearing. He is now the captain of the England Cerebral Palsy Football Team.

Jack led a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils, and followed-up with a talk and question and answer session. The aim of the event is to inspire the pupils to take up sport generally, but just as importantly to encourage them to discover and then pursue their passion in life.  The children all had a fantastic time and were all inspired by Jack’s story.

Much of the money that is raised will be used to buy sports equipment for the school, while also supporting GB athletes (including Paralympic athletes).

Please ensure that you donate on or before Tuesday, 20 June at the latest.

Please also make sure that your child/children come to school on the event day with their PE Kits!

Thank you in anticipation of creating a terrific and memorable event.

Much Birch is very proud of its commitment to encouraging children to participate in sporting activities. We provide the opportunity to join in with team games and individual sports. Throughout the year we enter a number of competitions.

At Much Birch we recognise the importance of skilled coaching to ensure that all children develop their skills. Thus we buy in expertise for class lessons and after school clubs. Sport is for all children and our aim is to ensure that all those who want to, will be able to represent the school at some time in their school career at Much Birch.
