Welcome to the Much Birch reading corner!

We believe reading for pleasure is one of the most important tools for learning - for your guidance here are 100 recommended reads for KS1, Years 3/4 and Years 5/6.

Reading (and listening to) rich and inspirational texts will help children's writing as they see (or hear) more complex vocabulary and punctuation choices.

Reading for pleasure at home - document for parents

The following 'Vipers' documents will help you while reading with your child.

Vipers stands for:

Vocabulary, Inference, Prediction, Explanation, Retrieval & Summarise.

These are key skills for reading comprehension and skills that we teach at Much Birch through our class reading sessions.
